Pre-Budget Meeting with Stakeholders
It is believed that the Finance Minister will hold a pre-budget meeting with representatives of industry, agriculture, health, education sector, besides economists, leaders of trade unions, MSMEs and startups. Every budget has been very challenging for Nirmala Sitharaman. He presented his first budget in July 2019, within two months of that, he had to announce a reduction in corporate tax in view of the crisis on the economy. Corona dominated the general budget of 2020 and 2021. The government had to make many announcements to bring the economy back on track, as well as make special provisions in the budget to improve the health sector infrastructure.
Budget will be presented in the shadow of new variant of corona virus
It is believed that even while presenting the budget for 2022-23, the Finance Minister will have to prepare the budget keeping in mind the new variant of Corona. However, it is a matter of satisfaction for the government that the GST collection is increasing. According to the latest GDP figures, the economy is showing growth at the rate of 8.4 percent. But it is believed that the entire focus of the Finance Minister in the budget is going to be on the strength of the infrastructure in the country.
