Karnataka govt lifts night curfew from 31 January

The Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai reviewed the pandemic situation with health officers and senior officers on Saturday.

CM Basavaraj Bommai has decided to withdraw the night curfew order from January 31. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai chaired an hour-long high-level meeting with  ministers, health experts, and senior officier during which the decision  was taken based on suggestions from experts

Karnataka Government gives major relief to business establishments, the Government makes a decision to lift the night curfew from Monday,  31Jan.  It also decided to reopen schools and colleges in Bengaluru on Monday, Jan 31.

Karnataka government on Saturday announced to withdraw the night curfew from Jan 31 and reopen the hotels, bars, and pubs except for cinema halls.

Schools have also been permitted to reopen from Monday in the state capital and other cities.

“We have good news for the public. From January 31, there won’t be a night curfew,” Revenue Minister R Ashoka said, briefing reporters after a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai with experts.

Bars, pubs, and restaurants are permitted to function at 100% capacity from Monday. However, the state government has allowed swimming pools, cinema theatres, and gyms to function at 50 percent capacity only.

 It may be noted that restaurant and pub owners had frequently submitted requests to the state government requesting relaxations as the night curfew was hit their business and livelihoods.
