Maruti Suzuki Makes Sonipat India’s Largest Base production

Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest automaker, will soon start construction of a new manufacturing facility in Sonipat, Haryana. It believes that it become Marti’s largest production base in India.

Maruti Suzuki chairman R C Bhargava told ET that construction work will begin soon at the unit, which will be started by 2025. “We are waiting for the clearances and will begin construction shortly. The first assembly line at the unit will be commissioned within three years,” Bhargava said.

The total suitable capacity of the Sonipat facility can be roughly 1 million units. “Unlike Gurgaon and Manesar, Bargaba has land available to set up a fourth assembly line in Sonipat.”

The company has three assembly working lines at each of the Gurgaon and Manesar facilities, with a total production capacity of roughly 1.5 million units.

Maruti Suzuki Makes Sonipat Unit India’s Largest Production Base. Overall, Maruti Suzuki will invest Rs. 180 billion in Sonipat’s facilities. It replaces the Gurgaon factory, which faces traffic and congestion issues due to its nearness to residential areas.
