The first list of 53 candidates of congress reveal for Uttrakhand

The Congress revealed its first list of candidates for the Uttarakhand Assembly election on Saturday, 22 January, in its first list there are 53 candidates for Uttarakhand Assembly elections. In its first list, the party announced its candidates for 53 of the 70 seats in the Uttarakhand Assembly.

Uttarakhand Congress President Ganesh Godiyal will compete from the Srinagar seat, Leader of Opposition in the outgoing Assembly Pritam Singh has been fielded from the Chakrata (ST) constituency.

Yashpal Arya and his son Sanjeev Arya, who quit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and shifted over to the Congress in October 2021, will compete from Bajpur and Nainital constituencies respectively.

The Uttarakhand assembly election 2022 will be held in a single phase on 14 Feb. The counting of votes will occur on 10 March.

This time, the Uttarakhand Assembly polls are to a three-surrounded fight between the ruling BJP, the Congress-led by Harish Rawat, and Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party.
